So today I’m going to talk about something that is sensitive for a lot of us, but with communication and the right help we can overcome it and be a helping hand to ourselves and others.
Depression is a state of low mood and aversion to activity that can affect a person’s thoughts, behavior, feelings and way of life. People with depressed mood can feel sad, anxious, empty, hopeless, helpless, worthless, guilty, irritable and ashamed. They may lose interest in activities that they once loved. Also experience loss of appetite or overeating, have problems concentrating, remembering details or making decisions, and may contemplate, attempt or
commit suicide. Insomnia, excessive sleeping, fatigue, aches, pains, digestive problems or reduced energy may also be present.
Depression can stem from a number of things like loss of love, loss of a job and even loss of self. It’s a feeling of agonizing defeat to a substance you can’t touch. As humans we need something tangible to touch, to blame or to point fingers at. When we can’t have it, it brings a whole other sense of anxiety though it can be overwhelming; they’re plenty of ways to help u cope day by day:
1. Simplify your life
2. Write in a journal
3. Read self-help books and search websites
4. Locate helpful groups
5. Don’t become isolated
6. Learn ways to relax and manage your stress
7. Structure your time
No one knows if depression really goes away or if it just subsides until a moment comes where it just rears its ugly head again. But no matter what don’t ever give up or give in. Be strong and this too you can overcome.
